Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy

At Courtier, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and fully adhere to the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

Wwft Compliance

The Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft) mandates that businesses like ours ensure the integrity of our operations by preventing involvement in money laundering activities. As part of our commitment to these regulations, we conduct thorough customer due diligence to verify the identity of our customers and their stakeholders (Ultimate Beneficial Owners - UBOs), as well as to determine the origin of their funds.

Reporting Unusual Transactions

Courtier is legally required to report any unusual transactions immediately to FIU Nederland (Financial Intelligence Unit). These transactions are then investigated by the FIU to determine if they should be classified as suspicious. Courtier is registered with FIU Nederland, ensuring our compliance with all regulatory obligations.

Fraud Prevention

Our webshop, powered by Squarespace, is equipped with advanced fraud prevention tools. Utilizing machine learning algorithms trained on extensive historical transaction data, this system flags orders that present medium to high fraud risk. Orders identified as high risk undergo additional verification and, if necessary, are canceled. We are also required to report such incidents.

In-Person Appointments

Courtier only accepts payments via bank transfer and does not accept cash transactions. For in-person appointments, customers are required to present a valid ID. The personal details on your ID must match the IBAN data provided for the transaction.
